Classification:
- Designed for vessels that travel less than150nm+
offshore and/or 12 -24 hours
from medical care.
- A safe, comprehensive, highly organised, and user‐friendly medical kit, that complies to, and exceeds MCA Category B
regulations MSN 1768 (M+F). The MCA regulations cannot change in line with medical recommendations, but we as doctors
can keep you up to date and we work constantly to give you the safest and most up to date medications and innovations
available.
- Class B Kits are provided for 10, 20, 30 + crew and guest levels. If you requirements change we can both upsize and down size
easily. Unlike many suppliers, our qualifications allow us to balance the requirements needed for larger crews and we do not
simply multiply everything by 2 or 3 etc. This maintains your medical kit at safe but sensible levels and reduces re‐supply
costs.
- IMPORTANT .All MCA A and B kits should contain Oxygen as standard and not as an option. Some providers are suggesting
optional Oxygen. ALL OMI MCA A and B kits contain Oxygen as standard.
- Some high profile providers are not supplying anti‐tetanus medication in both vaccine form and the all important
immunoglobulin form which needs to be refrigerated. This is an important part of MCA 1768 regulations but is the only way
to properly treat this critical and common illness. Tetanus has a high fatality rate and does not respect the fact that you are at
sea. If your supplier suggests that they have an alternative treatment to this condition, this is not correct and should be
considered with great caution.
- OMI Kits are designed to cover many more conditions than other kits supply. We are able to do this because as clinical
doctors who have taught yachting crews for many years we understand the possibilities for safe treatment particularly when
combined with 24/7 medical advice. Conditions covered.
